WOMEN'S DAY
We do this class to commemorate the International Women's Day.
After seeing a slide show on women in different parts of the world, Antonio handed a piece of paper to each student which contained the name of a place and what women did in that place (for example if women had to marry thirteen years or things like that).
In this class, we also talked about Simone de Beauvoir. Here I leave a brief biography of this woman.
On January 8, 1908 Simone de Beauvoir was born in Paris. Her parents were Georges de Beauvoir and Françoise Brasseur. She Was dedicated to the Feminist Movement and spoke out the way the French Against Institutionalized poor unmarried mothers. She was also a atheist who committed that religion supplied strongly felt a reason to evade truth.
Simone died on April 14, 1986 in the city where he was born in Paris.
We can say that when we speaking of Simone de Beauvoir are talking about a memorable woman. One of the French intellectual figures more important and committed from mid-twentieth century whose contribution to feminism has been very significant.
